Chris, a lifelong resident of the North Hills, established his own law office after graduating from Duquesne University School of Law in 1976. Through his years of experience Chris has developed winning strategies to effectively handle your Real Estate, Business Law, Estate Planning and Probate Law issues.

Chris has a strong concentration in all facets of residential real estate, including closings of single-family sales, title insurance underwriting and commercial transactions. In the estate planning area, Chris is proficient in the preparation of wills, trusts, Powers of Attorney and living wills (healthcare directives). He is a certified member of the AARP Legal Services Network and a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, both of which require extensive experience and strong legal skills in those areas. Over the years, Chris has helped hundreds of small businesses organize partnerships and corporations, which he advises on an on-going basis.

In addition to his law practice, Chris is a past President and current member of the Rich-Mar Rotary Club, co-founder and past President of the Hampton Soccer Club, and former Chairman of the Hampton Government Study Commission. He is married and has two grown children. He enjoys gardening, golf and travel.

John has been in the practice of law for 27 years, all in North Hills suburban law firms. He is a graduate of North Allegheny High School, of Colgate University and in 1973 received his Juris Doctor degree from Dickinson School of Law. In 1991 he joined Chris Abernethy and Geff Young to form Abernethy, Auld and Young. Prior to that, he practiced for 18 years with pioneer North Hills attorney, Howard S. Auld, as part of Howard S. Auld and Associates.

Experienced in a wide variety of areas, John maintains a broad legal practice. His areas of concentration are real estate, both residential and commercial; wills, estate planning and decedent’s estates; banking law; small business counseling; and municipal law. In addition to individual and small business clients, John represents Laurel Savings Bank, North Pittsburgh Telephone Company and Richland Township Municipal Authority. He has also been an underwriting agent for Lawyers Title Insurance Company for over 20 years.

John is married and has two grown children and one teenage daughter. He resides in southern Butler County.

Attorney George F. Young, III, “Geff”, joined Christopher M. Abernethy in 1986 to form Abernethy & Associates. Originally from the White Oak, McKeesport area, Geff moved to the Northern Pittsburgh area in 1986. Following in the footsteps of his father, an attorney in McKeesport, Geff maintains a general practice of law. He concentrates his practice in the areas of Real Estate, Litigation, Domestic Relations, Business Counseling, Estates and Wills.

Geff attended Dickinson College in 1977 and obtained his Juris Doctorate from the Dickinson School of Law in1981. He is a member of the Allegheny Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association. He is also very active in the Hampton Rotary Club.

Geff believes in giving back to his community. He serves on the Indigent Divorce Panel for the Allegheny County Bar Association and is involved with the Community Outreach Program. Geff is also a member of the Greater Pittsburgh Mustang Club and is a big fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
